Hi, I’m Laura

I’m the founder of Avanti Scaling and a certified Scaling Up Coach. My passion is guiding visionary leaders, like you, through the exciting, yet often overwhelming, process of scaling.

My journey with Scaling Up has provided me with a comprehensive view of the process from multiple angles. I’ve worked at a company using Scaling Up practices, implemented these methodologies in another organization, and collaborated closely with a Scaling Up coach before becoming certified myself. This wide-ranging experience has taught me how transformational change impacts everyone in an organization. I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with scaling, and I’m here to make the journey as smooth and empowering as possible for every individual involved.

Before diving into Scaling Up, I built a diverse career that laid the groundwork for all four key decisions in the Scaling Up framework: cash, execution, strategy, and people. I began my career in public accounting and audit, where I worked on financial reporting and audits for various sectors, including government contracting, not-for-profits, private companies, and employee benefit plans. From there, I transitioned to management consulting, focusing on financial improvement, strategy, and change management for the Federal government and the Department of Defense. During this time, I worked extensively on process improvement, employee engagement, change management, and facilitation, which enriched my understanding of people and organizational dynamics. As Senior Vice President of Firm Operations at a boutique consulting firm, I led operational enhancements that resulted in Scaling Up-sized growth.

I’m passionate about simplification, process improvement, and making work more enjoyable. This drives my current focus on integrating AI into business operations to enhance efficiency and streamline processes, aligning perfectly with my commitment to helping organizations thrive.

I also hold certifications in ProSci® Change Management and HCI Human Capital Strategist, which equip me to support organizations through their transformational journeys.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband, our two young daughters, and our dog. I enjoy the beach, discovering new restaurants and cocktails, and staying connected to my roots with Buffalo sports teams (Go Bills!) and local foods.
